The Government of the Solomon Islands has applied for financing from the World Bank towards the cost of the Solomon Islands Substainable Energy Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for individual consultant services. The services include the recruitment of an expert individual with the appropriate procurement background to be Board Director of the Solomon Islands Electricity Authority.

The Experienced Proffessional Director will be engaged for a period of 3 years. The Overseas Director will attend SIEA's Board Meetings when scheduled.

The Director will assist the Board in carrying out the following responsibilities; setting strategy consistent wiht the Government Policy directions, oversight of performance of the SIEA Commercialization Program and performance of the General and Commercialization Managers, preparing of corporate plan and annual budget, setting performance indicators, appointment and termination of the General Manager and Heads of Departments; and managing communications with customers and other key stakeholders.

The individual consultant shall meet the following qualification and experience requirements:

1. Applicant must possess post-graduate qualifications in electrical Engineering and/or Management

2. Must be a member of a recognized proffessional society

3. Must have at least 10 years experience ad board Director or Senior manager of an Electricity Utility

The Manager Commercialization will be mobilized on full time basis on an 18 month contract, to be extended for another 18 months based upon performance.
